what to expect

afterwards:
After your BIO REPEEL treatment you may experience a reduction in breakouts and congestion, more even skin tone and a lightening of pigmentation, increased hydration and a reduction in wrinkles. Bio Repeel treatments can address a whole range of your skin concerns! 

possible temporary responses: 

It is possible that you may experience some of the following temporary responses as a result of this treatment, which are not a reaction but a response to stimulation of the skin:

  • Pink/ red appearance of the skin and some tingling
  • Tightness, dryness or light itching of the skin and some flaking, due to increased cell production and removal of cell material
  • Warm sensation to the treated area
  • Breakouts post-treatment are normal due to an increase in cell turnover. This is not a cause for concern butplease feel free to contact us
  • These temporary responses may be relieved by applying BetaGel as instructed by your HUD Skin Therapist



what to avoid

Avoid for 48 hours after:

  • Excessive sweating: including sauna, steam rooms, hot showers and heavy exercise 
  • Chlorine 
  • Tanning beds or direct exposure to unprotected sun. Incorporate the use of broad spectrum SPF

 

Avoid the following activities for 1-2 weeks:

  • Waxing, bleaching or hair removal in the area
  • Products containing glycolic or salicylic acid, retinol (vitamin A) or scrubs 
  • Unprotected sun exposure
  • Avoid picking flaking skin
  • Benzoyl peroxide, Hydroquinone, prescribed retinoids: including isotretinoin, vitamin a, retinol, retinaldehyde
  • Other clinical treatments such as laser and chemical peels
  • Cosmetic tattooing
  • Waxing/ hair removal
  • Injectable treatments



what to do post treatment

  • Immediately after your treatment your skin may be extra sensitive. Do not pick, squeeze or agitate during the recovery period. If you are prone to herpes simplex (cold sores), it is recommended to take or apply a targeted prophylaxis, such as acyclovir, as a preventative measure to avoid activation.
  • Keep up with your home care procedure as prescribed by us as the use of non-prescribed product may impact the treatment outcome
  • Please make sure to use a broad spectrum SPF 30-50 daily recommended by your HÜD Skin Therapist
  • Avoid using chemical SPF for 24 hours
  • 3 days post treatment exfoliate with Micro Peel, Exoderma or a Home Enzyme Mask to alleviate any flaking, dryness or breakouts.

Inform your skin clinician of any problems and follow any instructions you are given.
