Enzyme Therapy Pre/Post Treatment Care

what to expect

_______

afterwards:
The skin will look plump, fresh and glowing, post treatment. You may experience some superficial redness and flaky skin depending on the amount of dead cell accumulation and the pre-treatments performed before the Enzyme Therapy. Your DMK Skin Technician will provide more details regarding your tailored treatment combination.

possible temporary responses:
It is possible that you may experience some of the following temporary responses as a result of this treatment, which are not a reaction but a response to awakening the cells:

  • Tightness or dryness of the skin
  • An outbreak of pimples if impurities have been locked under the skin (as the treatment increases water it unlocks these impactions and pushes them up and out)
  • Redness and irritation of the skin. This may be relieved by applying beta gel
  • Darkening of skin prior to exfoliation as underlying pigment moves to the surface.

what to do

On the day of your treatment, minimise high histamine foods. If you suffer from hay fever take an anti histamine. Don't wash your face or apply any products until the next day.

3 days post treatment you’ll likely be feeling a bit dry as your dead cells have loosened. To alleviate this and minimise breakouts, exfoliate with Micro Peel or Exoderma followed by Acu Mask or Hydration Mask. You can also choose to do a Home Enzyme Mask.

Inform your skin clinician of any problems and follow any instructions you are given. As with any treatment, there is always a very small possibility that you could have a negative reaction that the clinician could not predict. If you’re worried or are experiencing itchy, red, rashy skin please contact us.
