Skin Needling Post Care
what to expect
_______
before:
In order to prep your skin so we can get the best result for you, we recommend you have 2 Enzyme Treatments or 2 LED sessions before you go ahead with needling. We also recommend the use of Revitosin for 2 weeks prior (except during pregnancy) to help regulate cell turnover and minimise post needling purging.
afterwards:
You may experience a nice glow alongside a tight feeling for a few days to a week - but you’ll see a gradual improvement in skin laxity and scarring as the skin goes through its recovery period.
This timeline varies from person to person and individual treatment factors that will be discussed with your HÜD Skin Therapist.
possible temporary responses:
It is possible that you may experience some of the following temporary responses as a result of this treatment, which are not a reaction but a response to stimulation of the skin:
- Pink/ red appearance of the skin and mild swelling which will subside from 2-48 hours, this is due to the wound healing nature of the treatment, increasing blood and nutrients to the skin.
- Tightness, dryness or itching of the skin and some flaking, due to increased cell production and removal of cell material
- Warm sensations
- Breakouts post-treatment are normal due to arisein staphylococcus andloweringof thec-acnes bacteria as the skin’s microbiome balances. This might be annoying, but it's not a cause for concern. Please contact us via phone or email if there's itchiness or you're concerned in any way
- These temporary responses may be relieved by applying your appropriate aftercare cream as instructed by your HUD Skin Therapist. If you're experiencing hives you may take an anti histamine to relieve

what to do post treatment
_______
- Do not pick, squeeze or agitate during the recovery period. If you are prone to herpes simplex (cold sores), it is recommended to take or apply a targeted prophylaxis, such as acyclovir, as a preventative measure to avoid activation.
- It is recommended you use our recommended aftercare product (like Vitamin Rich Repair) only for the 3 days following your procedure, along with a gentle cleanser, as use of non-prescribed products may impact the treatment outcome
- Please make sure to use a broad spectrum SPF daily recommended by your HÜD Dermal Therapist
- 3 days post treatment exfoliate with Micro Peel, Exoderma or a Home Enzyme Mask to alleviate any flaking, dryness or breakouts.
Inform your skin clinician of any problems and follow any instructions you are given.
As with any treatment, there is always a very small possibility that you could have a negative reaction that the clinician could not predict. If you’re worried or are experiencing any symptoms you’re worried about please contact us via email or phone.
